1. INDIAN OFFICIALS, RUSSIAN DEPUTY MINISTER ATTEND INVESTMENT FORUM : Secretary at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Rajesh Kumar Singh, India’s Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, and Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Vladimir Ilyichev attended the first India-Russia Investment Forum.

The event was organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Moscow and Invest India.

2. Indiaspora AI Summit 2024 @ University of Stanford on April 26 : Indian-origin business leaders from IT industry lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for putting India on the global map as a “credible innovator and leader” for all nations to invest in and grow.

3. India’s smartphone export to Russia reached a record-breaking $36 million in February, solidifying India’s position as the top export from the South Asian country to the Russian Federation.

4. The four-member delegation of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) will visit Bangladesh for bilateral discussions for the renewal of the MoU between the National Centre for Good Governance and the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration.

5. Maldives bans Indian spice brands Everest and MDH over claims of cancer-causing pesticide : Hong Kong and Singapore earlier this month banned the sale of MDH and Everest, claiming that they detected the presence of carcinogenic pesticide ethylene oxide in several spice mixes.

1. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has visted to China on Sunday on a surprise visit to the country , which is also the second biggest market of the electric vehicle giant.

Musk is seeking to meet senior Chinese officials in Beijing to discuss the rollout of Full-Self Driving (FSD) software in China and to obtain approval to transfer data collected in the country abroad to train algorithms for its autonomous driving technologies.

2. The death toll reached to 22 due to heavy rains that lashed various districts of Balochistan.

3. PAKISTAN JUDGE KIDNAPPED AT GUNPOINT : The District and Sessions Judge Shakirullah Marwat serving his duties in South Waziristan was kidnapped by armed men near the border area of Tank and Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

4. Chinese marine research vessel Xiang Yang Hong-3 has returned in Maldivian waters, marking its second visit to the archipelago nation within two months after Pro-China Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu’s ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) has won the Parliamentary elections.

5. China has launched the first of the eight Hangor-class submarines to be built for its all-weather ally Pakistan to provide it with state-of-the-art warships, adding a new dimension to their growing bilateral military cooperation.The launch ceremony, held at Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group’s (WSIG) Shuangliu Base on Friday, was attended by Pakistan Navy chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

6. China Launches Shenzhou-18 Crew to Tiangong Space Station : China’s Shenzhou-18 mission sends three astronauts to the Tiangong space station for a six-month tenure, focusing on scientific research and space station maintenance. The Shenzhou-18 spacecraft, dubbed the “Divine Vessel,” lifted off atop a Long March-2F rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre.

7. The World Sindhi Congress (WSC) took centre stage at a conference convened by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) on April 23. With representatives from over 50 countries in attendance, the conference served as a platform to shed light on the persecution faced by Sindhi Hindus in Pakistan.

8. Iraq’s parliament on saturday passed a law criminalising same-sex relationships . The Law bans same-sex relations with maximum of 15 years in prison, and mandates at least seven years in prison for anybody who promotes homosexuality or prostitution.

9. The Third Investment Summit kicked off in Kathmandu, Nepal on Sunday, to bring in foreign direct investment and launch development projects for the country’s economic progress . Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ inaugurated the Summit.
