1. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri embarked on a three-day visit to the United States.

2. In an interview to a German Newspaper, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has pointed out that terrorist organizations are openly operating from the cities and towns of Pakistan. He said, terrorism is an open business in Pakistan that is supported, financed, and used by the Pakistani military and state.

3. 7. AIMIM chief and MP, Asaduddin Owaisi has once again slammed Pakistan. This time, Owaisi highlighted Pakistan’s misleading attempt to showcase a photo from a 2019 Chinese military drill as proof of their supposed superiority over India. 1. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025 (OBBBA) has recently passed in the US House of Representatives.

The OBBB consists of five main components. (a) It extends and makes permanent the income tax and estate tax cuts initiated in 2017.

(b) It introduces new tax reductions on overtime, tips, and social security incomes. The White House claims that Americans earning between $30,000 and $80,000 will see a 15% tax cut next year.

(c) The bill allocates increased funding for border security and military improvements.

(d) It aims to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending.

(e) It proposes raising the debt ceiling, allowing the government to borrow more to meet its financial obligations.

2. A vast dust storm moving across Australia has shrouded Sydney in a dense haze, sparking health alerts and underscoring the growing impact of climate extremes nationwide.

3. In Bangladesh, the Supreme Court acquitted Jamaat-e-Islami leader ATM Azharul Islam in a case over crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War.

6. Bakra Eid 2025 Date in India: Muslims globally are preparing for Eid-ul-Adha 2025, with Saudi Arabia calling for the Dhul Hijjah crescent moon sighting on May 27. If sighted, Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on June 6 in Saudi Arabia and countries following its announcement. India, Pakistan, and other Asian countries will sight the moon on May 28, potentially celebrating Eid on June 7 or 8.
