1. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Secretary, Pankaj Jain held a bilateral discussion with Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of Libya, Mohamed Khalil Issa and his delegation during their visit to New Delhi. The two sides discussed on enhancing collaboration in the energy sector, including increased crude oil trade and the resumption of exploration and production projects in Libya.

2. Arti, an 18-year-old woman from the Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, has been honored with the prestigious Amal Clooney Women’s Empowerment Award by King Charles III of the United Kingdom. The award ceremony, held at the iconic Buckingham Palace in London, England, celebrated Arti’s inspiring journey as an e-rickshaw driver and her role in empowering other young women in her community.

3. PM Narendra Modi congratulated Gitanas Nausėda on being re-elected as the President of Lithuania.

4. High Commissioner of India in Bangladesh Pranay Verma and Investment Adviser of Bangladesh Prime Minister Salman Fazlur Rahman on Saturday jointly inaugurated a new plant of India’s leading pharmaceutical company, Sun Pharma, near Dhaka.

1. An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 on the Richter scale jolted Tonga Islands on Monday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

2. Foreign ministers of the 27 European Union (EU) member states are meeting in Brussels on Monday to discuss the ongoing wars in Ukraine and Gaza, as well as the forthcoming election in Venezuela and Georgia’s new “foreign agents law.”

3. Six NATO countries—Finland, Norway, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania—are planning to build a coordinated drone defence system because of increased security worries and tensions along their borders with Russia.

4. Zimbabwe recently tried to get their economy back on track, which is why they made a new currency in April called the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG). As a result of major economic problems and the failure of earlier currencies, this is the sixth attempt in 15 years to create a national currency.

5. In Afghanistan, at least 16 people have lost their lives in the recent floods in Baghlan and Badakhshan provinces.

6. In Bangladesh, at least 10 people have been killed and over 30,000 homes destroyed after cyclone Remal smashed into low-lying areas of Bangladesh last night.

7. In Papua New Guinea, around 2000 people are feared to have been buried by a massive landslide that hit the remote hillside village in Enga province of the country early morning on Friday. The National Disaster Centre gave the new number in a letter to the United Nations. The latest figure is a sharp rise from earlier estimates.

8. Spain has pledged to provide military support to Ukraine worth one billion euros this year under an agreement signed between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Madrid.

9. Purnima Shrestha, a 32-year-old mountaineer from Gorkha, Nepal, and a photojournalist by profession has made history as the first woman in the world to climb Mount Everest three times in the same season, all in just 13 days.
