1. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) should be designated as an entity of concern. Dismissing the findings of the recently released 2025 Annual Report by USCIRF, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.

2. A 17-member delegation and representatives of BIMSTEC countries visited the Agartala Integrated Check Post brodering Bangladesh as part of the second trade capacity building facilitation programme.

6. U.S. President Donald Trump has referenced India and Brazil in his executive order to reform the American election system. The order highlights that India and Brazil link voter identification to biometric databases, whereas the U.S. relies on self-attestation for citizenship. It also praises Germany and Canada for using paper ballots counted publicly, reducing disputes.

7. The US Senate confirmed the appointment of Indian-origin scientist Jay Bhattacharya as the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

8. Recently, on 15 March 2025, SpaceX successfully launched the ‘NILA’ satellite as part of its Transporter-13 mission, marking a significant milestone for Kerala’s space start-up HEX20. Named after Kerala’s longest river, Nila is India’s first private payload hosting satellite and was developed in just four months.

2. Russia has said that some Western sanctions must be lifted before it begins a maritime ceasefire with Ukraine. Within hours of the U.S. announcing that the two sides had agreed to halt strikes in the Black Sea in separate deals.

3. A new Group Protection Insurance scheme for blue-collar workers in the UAE has been introduced. The scheme, facilitated by the Consulate General of India, was floated by Dubai National Insurance (DNI) and its marketing partner Nexus Insurance Brokers LLC at the Consulate General of India in Dubai.

4. Papua New Guinea has blocked access to Facebook in what authorities call a test to limit hate speech, misinformation, and pornography.

5. In South Korea: 24 dead, 26 injured in multiple wildfires, 1300-year-old temple damaged.

6. No confidence motion against 🇹🇭Thailand, PM Shinawatra voted down : Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra survived a no-confidence vote that confirmed the strength of her coalition in Parliament. The no-confidence motion was voted down by 319 to 162, with seven abstaining.

7. Bangladesh celebrates its 55th Independence and National Day yesterday. Various programmes have been taken at the national level to observe the day with due respect and solemnity.

8. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has clarified its status regarding the ongoing flight ban to the UK, emphasising that no decision has yet been made by the UK Department for Transport (DfT) regarding the resumption of flights.The DfT has not issued any formal communication about lifting the ban.

9. Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Muhammad Yunus, has embarked on a significant four-day visit to China, starting 26 March 2025.
