1. Paraguay has become the 100th country to join as full member of the International Solar Alliance. External Affairs Ministry said that Paraguay handed over the Instrument of Ratification, during the meeting of Ambassador Fleming Raul Duarte​ of Paraguay with Head of Depository, Joint Secretary in the Ministry, Abhishek Singh in New Delhi.

2. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today discussed India’s deep concern at the impact of continuing violence and instability in Myanmar on Indian border with his counterpart.

3. India’s first artificial intelligence university, Universal AI University (UAIU), has appointed international strategist and multiple award-winning professor Simon Mak as its vice-chancellor.

4. The 64th International Sugar Organisation (ISO) Council meeting commenced on 25th June 2024 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, bringing together delegates from over 30 countries and representatives of various international organizations. The meeting, held from 25-27 June 2024, aims to discuss issues related to the sugar industry and biofuels sectors.

1. Sri Lanka has reached a final restructuring agreement for its external debt owed to its bilateral creditors. The island nation’s State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe said on a social media post that the final agreement has been reached on debt restructuring between Sri Lanka and the Official Creditor Committee on the sidelines of the Paris Forum 2024 in France.

2. NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are stuck at the International Space Station, ISS, as engineers continue to fix the Boeing Starliner spacecraft that will take them back to Earth. Originally slated to spend eight days on the orbiting space laboratory, the astronauts reached the ISS on 6th June. Twenty days later, NASA and Boeing leadership are still adjusting the return to Earth of the Starliner Crew Flight Test spacecraft which suffered a small helium system leak on its way.

3. At least 22 people were killed in the demonstrations that turned violent in Kenya as protesters speaking out against new tax proposal clashed with the police.

4. The North Atlantic Council decided to appoint outgoing Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte as the next Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

5. Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks and an Australian national, was released from a UK prison on June 24, following a bail order from the London High Court.

6. China and France launched the Space Variable Objects Monitor (SVOM) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan province on June 22.

7. China’s Chang’e 6 spacecraft has successfully brought samples from the far side of the moon back to Earth, marking the first-ever return of materials from this scarcely seen lunar region.
