1. Rajya Sabha Chairman Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan yesterday met a Parliamentary Delegation from Cyprus led by President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Ms. Annita Demetriou at Parliament House in New Delhi.

2. Multiple Indian carriers have suspended or diverted multiple flights to West Asia after volcanic ash from Ethiopia’s Hayli Gubbi volcano drifted across the Arabian Peninsula, creating unsafe conditions for aviation. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) directed airlines to avoid contaminated airspace over the Arabian Peninsula and parts of western India.

3. In response to media queries regarding statements made by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that, Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India and no amount of denial by the Chinese side ist going to change this indisputable reality.

The issue of the detention of an Indian citizen from Arunachal Pradesh has been taken up strongly with the Chinese side.

1. North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO, fighter jets from Romania and Germany were scrambled today after a drone penetrated deeper than ever into Romanian airspace near the Ukrainian border, in what Bucharest described as a Russian provocation.

2. In Pakistan, Islamabad police carried out late-night raids in Argentina Park, beating and detaining several Afghan migrants and women activists.

3. The United States formally designated Venezuelas Cartel de los Soles as a foreign terrorist organization, adding new terrorism sanctions to what Washington considers a high-level network tied to President Nicolas Maduro. Venezuela rejected the move as a ridiculous effort targeting what it calls a non-existent group.

4. At least Six people have been killed as Russia launched a wave of attacks on Ukraine.

5. US President Donald Trump has said that he will travel to China in April at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

6. Bangladesh is likely to purchase 16-24 JF-17 Block III jets from Pakistan, boosting its air force capabilities. The deal, valued at $400-700 million, would mark Bangladesh’s largest fighter aircraft acquisition .
