1. PM Modi holds talks with his Fiji counterpart Sitiveni Rabuka in New Delhi; says, both countries ready to share their experience in fields of cyber security and data protection.

India and Fiji reiterate zero tolerance towards terrorism; Pledge to strengthen mutual cooperation in defense and security sector as two countries exchange nine MoUs and documents in New Delhi.

2. Fiji Prime Minister Rabuka called on Indian President Smt. Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu said, India remains committed to strengthening its relations and development partnership with the Pacific Island Countries, among which Fiji remains a special partner.

3. India’s envoy to Russia has said that Indian companies will continue purchasing oil from wherever they get the best deal, stressing that India’s priority is ensuring energy security for 1.4 billion people.

4. PM Modi will visit Japan and China from 29 August to 01 September 2025. In Japan (Aug 29–30), he will attend the 15th India–Japan Annual Summit—his first with Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba—to strengthen the Special Strategic and Global Partnership, focusing on defence, trade, technology, and regional issues.

In China (Aug 31–Sept 1), he will attend the SCO Summit in Tianjin, hosted by President Xi Jinping, and hold bilateral meetings with various leaders.

5. India and China are moving towards a significant breakthrough in their bilateral relations with the decision to resume trade through the historic Shipki-La pass in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district. Trade across this traditional Indo-Tibetan route was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and prolonged border tensions.

1. Bangladesh urged the international community to take stronger action to ensure justice, repatriation, and stability for the forcibly displaced Rohingya Muslims.

2. Five journalists were among twenty people killed yesterday in a strike on a hospital in southern Gaza, officials said. This comes two weeks after six journalists were killed in an Israeli targeted attack near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

3. Nepal will be hosting 22 days long Nepal Art and culture Festival to be spread across Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kirtipur, Lalitpur and Hadigaon. The first edition of the Nepal Art and Culture Festival 2025 will start from 5th September to 27 September.

4. Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office has issued a statement acknowledging Lebanon’s recent government decision to pursue the disarmament of Hezbollah by the end of 2025.

6. In Pakistan, monsoon rains have claimed at least 788 lives, and more than 1,000 people have sustained injuries. According to figures released by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the death toll since June includes 200 children, 117 women and 471 men.

7. Vietnam has shut down airports, closed schools, and begun mass evacuations as it prepares for the most powerful storm so far this year. Vietnam’s weather agency said Typhoon Kajiki, with wind speed up to 166 kilometres per hour is due to make landfall Monday afternoon.

8. Russia and Ukraine exchanged another 146 prisoners of war from each side yesterday after mediation by the United Arab Emirates, the Russian defence ministry said. All of the freed Russians were in Belarus, receiving psychological and medical assistance.
