1. PM Modi has returned to Delhi yesterday afternoon after a successful visit to Poland and Ukraine. During the visit, Prime Minister Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a delegation-level meeting in Kyiv.

2. During the visit, four MoUs including:

(a) Community development projects in Ukraine.
(b) Drug control standards.
(c) Cultural exchange,
(d) Agriculture sector were signed to bolster bilateral ties in various fields.

3. Earlier, during PM Modi visit to Poland, Prime Minister held talks with his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk in Warsaw. Both the leaders decided to upgrade the relationship to a Strategic Partnership. They also reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral, regional, and international cooperation for a more stable, prosperous, and sustainable world.

4. Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse has reached Kathmandu, Nepal to oversee the return of the victims and survivors in a road mishap in Tanahun district of Nepal. According to the Embassy of India Kathmandu, 27 Indians have lost their lives in the accident.

5. The second round of the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable will be held in Singapore on Monday. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Railways, IT, Information, and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will participate in the roundtable.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also spoke to the Union Defence Ministry regarding the accident.

6. Sri Lankan Navy has arrested eleven fishermen from Nagapattinam district on the wee hours of Friday for allegedly crossing the international maritime boundary line and fishing in Sri Lankan waters. They were taken to Sri Lanka for legal proceedings.

7. The Environmental Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark has launched the Smart Laboratory on Clean Rivers (SLCR) project to help restore the Varuna River. This project has received ₹16.8 crore from India’s Jal Shakti Ministry and an additional ₹5 crore from Denmark.

1. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has warned that delayed humanitarian pause in Gaza could face polio outbreak among children.

2. Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu was re-elected today as the chairman of the country’s Social Democratic Party (PSD) and confirmed as the party’s candidate for the upcoming presidential elections.

3. Independent US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign for the White House and endorsed former president and Republican nominee Donald Trump.

4. Four staff members at a maximum-security prison, IK-19 in the Volgograd region of Russia died after four inmates took the employees hostage, the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service has said.

The prisoners took eight prison employees and four convicts hostage yesterday. The criminals inflicted stab wounds of varying severity on four employees, three of whom died. Another four who resisted were hospitalised, one of whom died in the hospital. The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case into the incident.

5. The government of Nepal has decided to allow the use of social networking site Tiktok with conditions. According to the Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, a meeting of the Council of Ministers held Thursday decided on lifting the ban on TikTok.

6. In China, six people died after a fire broke out at a commercial shop in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province.
