1. External Affairs Ministry briefed ambassadors of US, Israel and Spain in Delhi on Pahalgam terror attack.

2. United Kingdom Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, Netherlands Prime Minister Dick Schoof and Sri Lankan President Anura Dissanayake reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday and strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack.

3. Pakistan halted the contentious Cholistan canal project Thursday, a day after India unilaterally decided to hold the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in abeyance.

The Cholistan project involves construction of six canals—two each in Pakistan’s Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan—to irrigate millions of acres of desert land. Five of the canals will draw from the Indus River, while the sixth will use the Sutlej River.

4. President Droupadi Murmu has reached Rome to attend the State Funeral of Pope Francis in Vatican City. President Murmu is on a two-day visit to the Vatican City.
