1. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday (Mar 24) held a telephonic conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov and expressed his deepest condolence over the loss of lives in the Moscow terror attack.
2. International Astronomical Union (IAU) Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature on Tuesday approved the name ‘Statio Shiv Shakti’ for the landing site of Chandrayaan’s Vikram lander. Chandrayaan 3’s moon lander’s landing site was named Shiv Shakti on August 26 by Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi.
3. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar termed China’s claim on Arunachal Pradesh as ludicrous. He asserted that Arunachal Pradesh is part of India and not because some other country says it is part of India. Speaking at an event in Institute of South Asian Studies in Singapore, Dr Jaishankar said India has been clear and consistent on the matter. He said this is not a new issue and China has laid claims earlier also and has expanded its claims.
4. The Centre has extended the export ban on onion till further orders. The decision has been taken to increase domestic availability and to keep the prices of onion under check. Directorate General of Foreign Trade DGFT in a notification said.
5. Embassy of India, Kathmandu celebrated the 59th Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day on 22 March 2024. Around 300 guests, including several Members of Parliament, senior Government officials, ITEC alumni and prominent Nepalese alumni of academic institutions from India attended the celebrations.
6. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday said that Islamabad will “seriously” consider restoring trade ties with India that remained suspended since August 2019.

5. In 🇳🇬Nigeria, at least 137 of nearly 300 abducted children in the northwestern state of Kaduna were released on Sunday after over two weeks in captivity. The West African nation’s military disclosed this. Earlier a government statement had suggested that all the students were freed.
