1. India announced during Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s state visit to New Delhi on Saturday, 21 June, that an Indian technical team will evaluate the Teesta River conservation and management project, which has also garnered significant interest from China. Hasina is scheduled to visit China next month.
2. 18 Indian fishermen were arrested for alleged illegal fishing in the island nation’s waters by the Sri Lankan Navy and three fishing vessels were seized, The fishermen were arrested from the North Sea near Delft Islands during a search operation conducted Saturday night.
3. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. He said that the temple is a true cultural bridge between India and the UAE.
EAM S Jaishankar also meet his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.The two leaders are expected to discuss the wide-ranging issues of the partnership.
4. India and Bangladesh have committed to pursuing collaboration in frontier technologies, including nuclear, oceanography, and space technology. The two nations will partner in the joint development of a small satellite for Bangladesh and its launch using an Indian launch vehicle.India will extend e-Medical Visa facility to people from Bangladesh travelling to India for medical treatment.
5. India and Bangladesh on Saturday agreed to continue to expand their power and energy collaboration and together develop intra-regional electricity trade, including of competitively-priced power generated from clean energy projects in India, Nepal and Bhutan, through the Indian electricity grid.

1. Six policemen and priest killed as gunmen open fire at synagogue and church in Russia’ Dagestan. The incident occurred on Sunday (June 23) evening.
2. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday lamented that their party Chairperson Khaleda Zia is now on her deathbed for lack of necessary advanced treatment abroad.
Ms. Zia, 78, is a two-time former Prime Minister who heads the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and has been living under effective house arrest since her release from a 17-year prison sentence in 2020.

4. A merchant ship was hit by a drone in Red Sea on Sunday at 65 nautical miles west of Hodeidah, Yemen, Al Jazeera reported citing the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UK MTO).The ship is making its way to its next port of call and “all crew members are reported safe”.
