1. Sri Lankan Navy said on Sunday that it arrested 32 Indian fishermen and seized their five fishing boats for allegedly venturing into the territorial waters of the island nation.
2. Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda met the Health Minister of Maldives, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, in New Delhi.
3. An American Airlines flight AA292 from New York to New Delhi was diverted to Rome due to a “possible security issue”, according to reports, the diversion was caused by an “alleged bomb threat”.
4. India has dispatched humanitarian assistance of 26 tons to Honduras in the wake of the recent Tropical storm SARA.

1. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has criticized the Left, arguing that conservatives worldwide are unfairly portrayed as a threat to democracy. Speaking via video link at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in the United States,
Ms Meloni remarked that when Bill Clinton and Tony Blair established a global liberal network in the 1990s, they were praised as statesmen.
However, she noted that when leaders like US President Donald Trump, Argentine President Javier Milei, or Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi voice their views, they are branded as a danger to democracy.
2. In Germany, voting is underway who will govern the eurozone’s largest economy. It will decide the composition of the next Bundestag, the country’s lower house of parliament. Around 59 million Germans are eligible to vote in a snap election.
The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) secured its highest-ever national election result on Sunday, with exit polls indicating support between 19.5 per cent and 20 per cent.
3. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday (Feb 23) that his country was ready “at any moment” to resume fighting in Gaza against Hamas.
4. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), on Sunday (Feb 22), released the footage of its September 27 airstrike on Beirut, which it said killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and several other high-ranking officials of the militant group.
