1. India and Bangladesh yesterday shared a vision for the future to enhance connectivity, commerce, and collaboration for the prosperity of both nations. The vision documents were exchanged between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina.

Earlier, India and Bangladesh exchanged agreements and renewed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in different fields including digital and green partnerships, maritime cooperation, blue economy, health and medicine and railway connectivity.

2. Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has expressed gratitude for India’s financial support that helped the island nation survive two tough years of economic crisis. Addressing the 31st All India Partners meet in Colombo, Mr. Wickremesinghe emphasized his commitment to maintaining a strong partnership with India.

3. Canadian law enforcement authorities have assured that investigations into the bombing of Air India’s ‘Kanishka’ Flight 182 remain active and ongoing, terming it the “longest” and one of the “most complex domestic terrorism” probes. The statement came as the tragedy marks its 39th memorial anniversary.

4. The Embassy of India in Muscat, in collaboration with the Indian School Muscat, organized a grand celebration for the 10th International Day of Yoga yesterday. The event drew an impressive crowd of 2,000 participants from diverse backgrounds, including Indian nationals.

5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to skip the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to be held in Kazakhstan next month (03-04 July) , and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is expected to officiate in his place.

6. Japan has recently imposed trade restrictions on Chinese and Indian firms over their alleged support for Russia’s war in Ukraine.

7. National security planners have found several irregularities in the operations of Chinese companies and the import of Chinese products into India.

1. Latest Israeli attacks in parts of Gaza city in the north of the blockaded Palestinian enclave killed at least 42 people on 22 June.

More than eight months into the war, Israel’s advance is now focused on the two last areas its forces had yet to seize: Rafah on Gaza’s southern edge and the area surrounding Deir al-Balah in the centre.

2. Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland stumbled over a question posed to her on why Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was on the no-fly list and had his bank accounts frozen before his death, is now being honoured with a tribute in the Canadian Parliament.
