1. A group of Myanmar citizens, currently staying in a detention centre in Manipur, have launched a hunger strike demanding their release from the facility.
2. Jetti Harika, a 25-year-old veterinary student from Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, tragically lost her life in a car accident in Oklahoma, USA. Harika had been pursuing her postgraduate studies in veterinary medicine in the US for the past year and a half.

1. Taiwan reported high military activity on Sunday, detecting 22 Chinese aircraft and 8 Chinese naval vessels around its territory. Amid the growing threat from Chinese invasion, Taiwan began military exercises to test its war fighting capabilities.

4. Belarus has announced a new visa-free regime allowing citizens from 35 European countries to stay in the country for up to 90 days per year. This policy, effective from 19 July 2024, is seen as an attempt by Minsk to ease tensions with the West, following recent geopolitical shifts and ongoing sanctions.
