1. India is ready to extend all possible cooperation to restore peace in Ukraine region: PM Modi ahead of talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the current president of Ukraine since 2019.
Prime Minister Modi also says, India and friendly countries ready to provide all possible support for early restoration of peace and stability in Ukraine and West Asia.
2. India and Poland Strengthen relationship to Strategic Partnership; Prime Minister Narendra Modi expresses confidence that Poland will support in strengthing India-EU relations.
PM Modi also thanked Poland for facilitating the evacuation of Indian students from Ukraine after the conflict began in 2022.
3. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma paid his introductory call to the Chief Advisor to the Bangladesh Government Professor Muhammad Yunus. The High Commissioner reiterated India’s commitment to work with Bangladesh to fulfill shared aspirations of people of India and Bangladesh for peace, security and development.
4. India Surpasses China As Top Importer Of Russian Oil : Russian crude made up a record 44% of India’s overall imports last month, rising to a record 2.07 million barrels per day (bpd), 4.2% higher than in June and 12% more than a year ago.

1. The United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) today appealed for 16.5 million US dollars to scale up Mpox response in east and southern Africa. Etleva Kadilli Regional Director for UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa, said children and vulnerable communities are on the verge of an expanding outbreak of Mpox. 200 confirmed cases have been detected across Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa.
2. The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has ordered the Election Commission to take measures to hold the postponed Local Government Elections immediately. The court also ruled that the fundamental rights of voters have been violated through the postponement of the 2023 Local Government Elections.
3. In Sri Lanka , the overall rate of inflation for July remained at 2.5% as against 2.4% recorded last month. The inflation, as measured by the National Consumer Price Index on a Year-over-Year basis remained within the Central Bank’s target range of under 5 per cent.
4. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has denied that he agreed to withdraw military forces from the Gaza-Egypt border as part of a potential ceasefire deal with Hamas.
5. In Sudan, heavy rains and flooding have resulted in 114 fatalities and 281 injuries since June. The Sudanese Health Ministry in a statement said.
