1. The Surajkund International Crafts Mela (Fair) is held annually at Surajkund in Faridabad, Haryana, India. The 38th edition of the Mela will be held from 7th to 23rd February 2025. Surajkund Mela Showcases Cultural Diversity with 600 Artisans from 44 Countries. Tomorrow is the last day.
2. The External Affairs Ministry said the Indian Mission in Panama is in touch with local authorities regarding the Indian nationals brought to Panama and Costa Rica on deportation flights from the US.

1. Hamas has announced the names of the latest Israeli hostages to be released today amid mounting outrage over the Palestinian group’s admission that it released the wrong body instead of Shiri Bibas’. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that the hostages’ families have been informed of their imminent release.
2. United States National Security Adviser Mike Waltz has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to tone down its stance and resume negotiations over a minerals deal with the US. The proposed agreement, which reportedly seeks a 50 per cent share of Ukraine’s natural resources, was initially presented by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent at the Munich Security Conference.
3. In Israel, a series of explosions on buses were reported yesterday. The blasts tore through at least three buses in a parking lot in Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv. No injuries were reported, however, transportation across the country was temporarily halted. The incidents occurred just hours after the Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas released the bodies of four Israeli hostages from Gaza.
4. United States President Donald Trump’s loyalist Kash Patel has been elected as the 9th Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which is America’s premier federal law enforcement agency.
5. Recent studies highlight the serious impacts of marine heat waves (MHWs) on marine mammals in Arctic and Subarctic regions. As ocean temperatures rise, these mammals face increased mortality rates, reduced reproductive success, and heightened vulnerability to diseases.
