1. US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma has assured that the United States would take action against India-designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun if he or his associates crossed the line.

2. PM Modi and his Greek counterpart, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is currently on a visit to New Delhi, attended the ninth Raisina Dialogue in the national capital on Wednesday.The Raisina Dialogue is India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics, committed to addressing the most challenging issues facing the global community.

3. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday said peace and stability in the Middle East was necessary for the success of the India-Middle East Economic Corridor announced during India’s G20 presidency last year.

4. PM Modi on Wednesday said that India welcomes Greece’s active participation and positive role in the Indo-Pacific and called it a matter of happiness that Greece has taken the decision to be part of the Indo-Pacific Oceans initiative.

7. On February 21st, 2024, Japan’s government signed a yen loan agreement worth 232.209 billion yen, approximately Rs 12,800 crore, with India to fund development across nine crucial infrastructure and innovation promotion projects that aim to strengthen bilateral economic ties.

On February 21, 2024, French authorities awarded Indian Member of Parliament and author Shashi Tharoor the distinction of ‘Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur’ (Knight of the Legion of Honour) – the highest French civilian honour. 1. The former Maldivian minister of foreign affairs, Abdullah Shahid was appointed as the president of the country’s largest opposition party, the Maldivian Democratic Party on Tuesday.This comes after former party president Mohammed Nasheed left the party on June 21 last year.

2. The United States, on Wednesday (Feb 21) urged the United Nations’ top court not to remove Israel from the occupied West Bank and Gaza without security guarantees and consider Israel’s “very real security needs”.

3. The BBC Russian Service and news outlet Mediazona have confirmed the identity of around 45,000 Russian soldiers who died in Ukraine since the invasion began in February 2022.

4. Iran has provided Russia with a large number of powerful surface-to-surface ballistic missiles, including the Fateh-110 family of short-range ballistic weapons, such as the Zolfaghar. The shipments began in early January after a deal was finalized. Russia is an ally of convenience for Iran.

5. British foreign minister David Cameron said Wednesday (Feb 21) that the United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on six officials at the head of the Siberian penal colony where Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny died.

6. The farmers in Poland began a new round of protests, blocking approximately 100 roads leading to the border and forcing the opening of two Ukrainian railcars at the Medyka border crossing. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday (Feb 21) expressed his anger over the current Poland-Ukraine tensions and said that only Russia would be “rejoicing”. He also proposed a meeting with Warsaw over repeated blockades by Polish farmers who are angry at what they say is unfair competition from Kyiv.

7. At the United Nations Security Council on 21 February 2024, the United States exercised its veto power to override a resolution put forward by Arab nations led by Algeria that sought an urgent ceasefire and end to major Israeli military offensives in Gaza Strip amidst renewed heavy combat engagements.
