1. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and the visiting Chairman of the French Senate, Gerard Larcher on Tuesday held “a fruitful discussion on the India-France strategic partnership”.The two leaders also engaged in talks over the convergence on a number of global issues.
2. Bangladesh’s far right political party Bangladesh Islami Front has completely rejected a recent ‘India Out’ social media campaign in Bangladesh. The campaign has sharpened after Sheikh Hasina, who is seen to be close to India, won a record fourth term in the recently concluded national elections.
3. India’s high-profile conference on geopolitics and geo-economics, THE RAISINA DIALOGUE, is set to convene its 9th edition from February 21 to 23. It is organized by Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with Observer Research Foundation (ORF).
Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic (Greece), H.E. Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis will pay a State visit to India from 21-22 February 2024. PM Mitsotakis will be the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker at the 9th Raisina Dialogue, 2024 in New Delhi.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the conference is dedicated to tackling pressing issues confronting the global community, will witness the inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 21 February 2024.
4. US Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, Rena Bitter, will be travelling to India, during which she will engage with embassy and consulate colleagues in Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi.She will be travelling to India and Qatar during her visit from 19 to 27 February.
5. Amid the escalating tension in the Red Sea, Permanent Secretary of Malta’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs and European Affairs and Trade, Christopher Cutajar said on Tuesday that India has done a lot to prevent piracy attacks in the Gulf of Aden and the nearby region and called for intensifying collaborations to establish a safer area for supply chains.
6. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Japan’s Ambassador to India, Hiroshi Suzuki, in New Delhi on Monday.The two leaders had a “good conversation” on the partnership shared between India and Japan.
