Addressing a convocation in Pune, he noted that this shift has led to natural competition among nations, creating new balances in the international system.
2. India stands proudly as the world’s third-largest domestic civil aviation market, reflecting the rapid growth of the sector. Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha said the country’s aircraft fleet has more than doubled from 395 in 2014 to 844 by 2025.

1. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has called upon all stakeholders in Bangladesh to exercise restraint, reduce tensions and refrain from violence as the country moves toward parliamentary elections scheduled for February.
2. Second World Meditation Day is being observed today. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21st of December as the ‘World Meditation Day’ last year. The date was chosen to coincide with the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, which symbolizes introspection and inner calm.
3. A Pakistani court sentenced the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to 17 years imprisonment each in the Toshakhana 2 corruption case. The case is about alleged fraud in state gifts, which the former first couple received from the Saudi government in 2021.
4. 10 men arrested for Hindu man’s lynching in Bangladesh. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested these 10 men in connection with the brutal murder of Dipu Chandra Das, a 27-year-old Hindu youth, in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, Bangladesh.
