Roy, aged 58 and vice-president of the Biral unit of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, was abducted from his home in Basudebpur village, Dinajpur district, on Wednesday.

1. In Canada, a prominent gurdwara in Vancouver was vandalized with pro-Khalistan graffiti overnight, sparking outrage among the local Sikh community. The incident occurred at the Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara, commonly known as the Ross Street Gurdwara.

Canadian MP Chandra Arya has urged Hindu and Sikh communities in Canada to speak out and demand strong government action against Khalistani extremists.

2. In the USA, thousands of protesters took to the streets across the nation, in the second wave of protests against President Donald Trump this month.

3. U.S. Supreme Court temporarily stopped President Donald Trump from using an old law to deport Venezuelan migrants without due process. The decision came early Saturday and paused the use of the 1798 Alien Enemies Act, last used during World War II.

4. Russia and Ukraine have conducted the largest prisoner exchange of the war yesterday since the beginning of the conflict between both nations in February 2022. This happened during a short Easter ceasefire declared by Putin.

5. Ukraine and Russia have blamed each other for breaking a 30-hour Easter ceasefire, which ended last night. The truce was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who ordered a halt to fighting from Saturday evening to Sunday midnight. Ukraine agreed to observe it too. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia broke the truce nearly 3,000 times, with heavy shelling in the eastern city of Pokrovsk.
