1. American billionaire Elon Musk has postponed his India visit citing work commitments, and said he would make it later this year. Musk was scheduled to meet PM Modi during his visit and announce investments worth billions of dollars around a greenfield electric car project for Tesla, apart from satcom venture Starlink.
2. Bangalore has become home to Asia’s 1st dedicated command & control centre for space domain awareness. The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated at Digantara global headquarters here. Digantara is a space situational awareness (SSA) firm.
3. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri held a telephonic conversation with OPEC Secretary General, Haitham Al-Ghais on Friday and discussed the recent trends and volatility in the global oil markets and their implications for international energy stability.
4. The Indian ambassador to Austria, Shambhu Kumaran, joined the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Friday. Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, welcomed him and stressed that India is a key partner in all their initiatives.

1. Mount Ruang, a remote volcano located in Indonesia’s North Sulawesi region, erupted recently, sending a plume of ash 400 meters (1,312 feet) above the peak. This eruption followed several others, which forced thousands of residents to evacuate.
2. North Korea has conducted tests on a new “super-large” warhead designed for the Hwasal-1 Ra-3 strategic cruise missile, as well as a new type of anti-aircraft missile called the Pyoljji-1-2.
3. United States has imposed sanctions on three China-based companies and one from Belarus for providing ballistic missile components to Pakistan. The companies Xi’an Longde Technology Development, Tianjin Creative Source International Trade, Granpect Co. Ltd. from China, and Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant from Belarus supplied missile-applicable items for Pakistan’s ballistic missile programme, including its long-range missile programme.
4. 🇺🇸USA House of Representatives on Saturday (Apr 20) voted 311-112 in favour of giving Ukraine $60.8bn military aid package, It also passed a funding of $26.4bn for Israel as the country fights Hamas in Gaza.
5. Japanese military confirmed that seven people were missing after two military helicopters crashed on Saturday, The two SH-60K helicopters, belonging to the Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) were each carrying four people on board.
6. Maldives is all set to hold its 20th parliamentary elections on Sunday (Apr 21), the results of which must be announced before April 28. As per sources, preliminary results will be announced by today midnight.
