1. India’s role in global food standard development was appreciated in the 88th session of the Executive Committee of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CCEXEC 88). The session was held at the FAO Headquarters in Rome from 14th to 18th July.

2. China has condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and has called on regional countries to enhance counter terrorism cooperation to safeguard regional security.

1. At least 27 bodies have been recovered and another 12 people have been rescued after a tourist boat capsized in Vietnam’s Halong Bay yesterday. According to state media, search and rescue efforts are underway for 14 people who are still missing. The vessel was reportedly carrying 53 people, including 48 tourists and five crew members.

2. The US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack said that Israel and Syria have agreed to a ceasefire after Israel launched air strikes on the country which it claimed were aimed at protecting an Arab religious minority Druze community.

Clashes between pro-government forces and the Druze have killed scores of people since the fall of Syria’s longtime ruler, Bashar al-Assad.

3. In South China, a high alert has been issued for Hainan and Guangdong provinces as Typhoon Wipha entered the South China Sea, bringing strong gales and heavy rains.
