1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stresses importance of maintaining peace and tranquillity on India-China border during meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New Delhi; China assures of addressing India’s requirement of fertilisers and rare earths.

This breakthrough comes amid a global health crisis caused by antimicrobial resistance, which leads to over one million deaths annually.

1. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is ready to hold one-on-one talks with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in any type of format without preconditions to end the war.

2. The United States will no longer provide free weapons or financial aid to Ukraine. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this in an interview with a television Channel. Mr Rubio said the US will now sell arms to Ukraine, with European countries covering the cost through NATO.

3. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that US President has received a formal invitation to visit Moscow.

4. Sri Lanka has made progress in tackling food insecurity, with the rate falling from 24 percent to 16 percent, according to Philip Ward, the newly appointed representative and country director of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

5. TikTok and the Nepal Tourism Board jointly announced a partnership on Tuesday to promote Nepal’s tourism sector through a creator-led campaign. The in-app experience is expected to help travellers discover the country’s must-see destinations and unexplored locations.

6. The death toll from a gunpowder explosion at a factory in the Russian city of Ryazan has increased to 25. The city’s Governor said that a fire broke out in a production workshop at an enterprise in the Shilovsky district.

7. Hamas has confirmed its acceptance of a new ceasefire proposal for Gaza, as international mediators from Qatar and Egypt intensify efforts to bring an end to the ongoing conflict ahead of a planned major Israeli offensive on Gaza City.

8. The wildfire death toll in southern Europe has risen to six, with four killed in Spain and two in Portugal as blazes continue to devastate the region. Spain has deployed 1,900 firefighters to battle the flames.

9. Sudan Denies $1.5B Pakistan Defense Deal Claim: The Sudanese military has refuted reports of a $1.5 billion defense deal with Pakistan for military hardware, labeling the claims as “fake news” circulated by Pakistani media.
