1. India is communicating between Russia and Ukraine to help the two warring nations resolve their differences, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said .

2. China has violated border agreements, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Tuesday, noting that continued tension will cast a natural shadow over the rest of this relationship.

3. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval who is in Paris, called on French President Emmanuel Macron. He conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s greetings to Mr Macron. He reiterated his commitment to implement the India-France Horizon 2047 roadmap.

4. India and Jamaica exchanged four Memorandum of Understanding in the fields of Digital Public Infrastructure, Cultural Exchange and Sports. These MoUs were exchanged after delegation-level talks held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his visiting Jamaican counterpart Dr Andrew Holness in New Delhi.

Jamaican PM Dr. Andrew Holness also visited Rajghat and pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi.

5. The 26th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2024 began at the Dubai World Trade Centre, featuring a strong Indian presence with 29 leading companies participating in the Indian pavilion. The event, organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), will continue till the 3rd of this month.

1. Iran launched a missile attack on Israel on Tuesday. In a statement the Israeli Defence Forces said, all Israeli civilians are in bomb shelters as rockets from Iran are fired at Israel.

2. US president Joe Biden on Tuesday ordered the US military to aid Israel and shoot down Iranian missiles. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for a ceasefire amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran.

3. IMF delegation to meet Sri Lankan officials to discuss economic recovery plan : The delegation, led by the Director of the IMF’s Asia-Pacific Region, Krishna Srinivasan, is expected to meet Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath during their three-day visit.

The discussions will focus on the country’s progress under the current program and explore the next steps in Sri Lanka’s economic recovery plan.

4. At least 23 people were killed in Thailand when a school bus carrying more than 40 students and teachers caught fire on the outskirts of the capital, Bangkok.

4. In 🇹🇼Taiwan, schools and offices were shut down as the island braced for Typhoon Krathon. more than 7,700 people have been evacuated. According to the Central Weather Administration.

5. Former Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte today took over as the Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) in Brussels. He succeeds Norway’s Jens Stoltenberg, who had led the alliance since 2014.

6. In China, three people were killed, and 15 others injured after a man went on a stabbing rampage inside a Walmart supermarket in Shanghai. The police arrested the accused at the scene, and further investigations are on. The incident occurred on the eve of China’s week-long National Day holiday.

7. European Commission has said that the Group of Seven (G7) countries want to reach a political agreement on the 50 billion dollar loan for Ukraine by the end of this month for the cash to be able to available before the end of this year.

The G7 countries are the United States, Canada, Japan, Britain, France, Germany and Italy. The European Union as a whole, represented by its institutions, is also part of the group.
