1. Sagar Defence, an iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) winner, has secured the “Accelerating the Autonomous Robotics Revolution” challenge under the VISTA Track at Dubai Airshow 2025, earning a USD 5,000 prize for its autonomous systems concept. iDEX congratulated the team, noting that the achievement highlights India’s growing footprint in defence innovation.
2. The High Commission of India in Dhaka hosted “PharmaConnect” on Tuesday, a networking and knowledge-sharing event bringing together senior leaders from top Bangladeshi pharmaceutical companies. The event preceded the upcoming participation of Bangladeshi pharmaceutical companies at CPHI-PMEC India 2025, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical exhibitions.
3. The External Minister Dr S. Jaishankar has asserted that India has the right to defend its people against terrorism and will exercise it. Addressing the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting in Moscow, Russia, Dr. Jaishankar said, the world must show zero tolerance for terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
4. Sri Lanka surpassed two million tourist arrivals for 2025, a key milestone marked by the arrival of two French travellers at Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday. With India remaining the leading source market, supported by steady inflows from the UK, Russia, Germany and China, tourism authorities are hopeful of ending above 2.3 million arrivals this year.
5. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) apprehended three Bangladeshi fishing boats along with 79 crew members for illegal fishing in Indian waters. During routine surveillance in the northern Bay of Bengal, the ICG detected that the fishing boats were operating well within Indian waters, in violation of the Maritime Zones of India Act.
6. As part of the International Gita Mahotsav 2025 celebration, the Embassy of India organised a seminar on “The Relevance of the Bhagavad Gita in Today’s World.” Professors from Nepal Sanskrit University and Tribhuvan University delivered insightful presentations on various dimensions of the Gita, highlighting its timeless wisdom and relevance in the modern era.

1. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has opposed the death penalty imposed on ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in absentia by the country’s court.

The Amnesty International has condemned yesterday’s decision of Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) to sentence former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, saying the ruling represents a grave miscarriage of justice.
