1. PM Modi and 🇳🇬Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held talks at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Both leaders reviewed the strategic partnership between the two countries and discussed further avenues to enhance the bilateral relationship.
(a) PM Modi was conferred with the ‘Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger’ Award by Nigeria.
(b) PM Modi said India is sending 20 tonnes of humanitarian aid to support Nigeria in its flood relief efforts. He also congratulated Nigeria on becoming a partner country in BRICS.
(c) Three Memoranda of Understanding were signed between the two countries on Cultural Exchange Programme, Customs Cooperation and Survey Cooperation.
2. From Nigeria, the Prime Minister will travel to the Brazilian city of Rio De Janeiro on a two-day trip to attend the 19th G20 Leaders’ Summit, hosted by President Luis Inacio Lula Da Silva. In the third and final leg, Prime Minister Modi will undertake a state visit to Guyana from the 19th to the 21st of November.
3. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma has said today that India will continue to seek a stable, positive and constructive relationship with Bangladesh in which people of both countries are the main stakeholders. The High Commissioner was speaking on India-Bangladesh relations during the Bay of Bengal Conversation organized by the Centre for Governance Studies being held in Dhaka.
4. Australia, Japan, and the United States reaffirmed their commitment to support India’s maritime surveillance efforts in the Indo-Pacific region while recognising the importance of closer collaboration in the field.
5. In a significant move to repatriate cultural heritage, the United States announced the return of over 1,400 looted artefacts valued at 10 million dollars to India. The items, part of an ongoing initiative to restore stolen art to South and Southeast Asia, include pieces recently displayed at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
6. Indian students in Canada can now work up to 24 hours per week. Canada has increased the number of hours international students can work off-campus during academic sessions in a major update to its International Student Programme. Eligible students can now work up to 24 hours per week, up from the previous limit of 20 hours.
7. A fresh wave of protests erupted in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), as residents expressed growing frustration over the administration’s failure to address persistent issues that have long plagued the region.
8. The Indian government is considering a significant infrastructure project involving a tunnel estimated to cost around ₹6,000 Crores to connect Leh with Pangong Lake. This proposed tunnel aims to facilitate easier movement for both travellers and military personnel, enhancing connectivity in the strategically important region of Ladakh.The tunnel is expected to be between 7 to 8 kilometers long.

1. In Ukraine, five persons were killed as Russia launched large-scale aerial attack, targetting energy infrastructure across the country and causing widespread damage. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said, 120 missiles and 90 drones were launched during a massive combined strike on all regions of the country.
2. Emergency blackouts have been announced in Kyiv, Mykolaiv and Black Sea port of Odesa that were under Russian attack.

4. In Philippines, a potentially catastrophic super typhoon, Man-Yi, has made landfall in the Bicol region of Luzon. The state weather bureau said Man-yi, known locally as Pepito, touched down last night with maximum sustained wind speeds of 195 km.
5. President-elect Donald Trump announced Chris Wright as his choice to head the Department of Energy. Wright, the founder and CEO of Liberty Energy, is a vocal supporter of fossil fuel use and is expected to align with Trump’s goals of maximizing oil and gas production.
6. At least seven people, including security personnel, were killed and 10 others injured in a terrorist attack on a security check post in Kalat district, Balochistan, on November 16, 2024. The attack was claimed by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a banned separatist group known for its violent actions against security forces in the region.

The 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, commonly known as the Zhuhai Air Show, has successfully attracted significant attendance, showcasing a variety of aerial displays and aviation technologies.
