1. Government is sending seven multi-party delegations to different countries to present India’s stand against Pakistan sponsored terrorism in the wake of Operation Sindoor. The delegations are set to visit key partner countries, including member countries of the UN Security Council later this month.

2. External Affairs Ministry clarified that External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar had said that India had warned Pakistan at the start of Operation Sindoor and not before the commencement of the operation.

3. Power Minister Manohar Lal is on an official visit to Brazil to participate in the BRICS Energy Ministers’ Meeting, scheduled for the 19th of this month.

4. Turkish airport services firm, Celebi Aviation Holding’s shares fell nearly 20 per cent over Thursday and Friday. The drop followed India’s decision to revoke security clearance for the company’s Indian subsidiaries, halting its operations in the country.

5. US President Donald Trump has claimed that India offered to remove all tariffs on American goods. Mr Trump, however, added that he was in no rush to finalise a trade deal despite the apparent breakthrough. In an interview, Donald Trump said he is not planning to make deals with everybody.

6. India and Japan have made significant progress in their joint lunar exploration initiative, Chandrayaan-5 or LUPEX, as the mission prepares to enter its design phase. Targeted for launch in 2027-28, the mission will focus on detecting and analyzing water sources on the Moon.

7. A recent visit by Chinese officials to the Lalmonirhat airbase site in Bangladesh, located just 20 km from India’s strategically critical Siliguri Corridor (the “Chicken Neck”), has heightened security concerns in New Delhi. The Siliguri Corridor is a narrow stretch of land that connects mainland India to its north-eastern states.

1. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that it struck and killed a Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon.

2. Ukraine rallied support from its Western allies after Kyiv and Moscow failed to agree to a ceasefire at their first direct talks in three years.

3. Bangladesh, the Inter-Services Public Relations, ISPR has announced a ban on all meetings, rallies, processions, protests, and demonstrations in areas surrounding the Dhaka Cantonment and other key parts of the capital city.

4. An American-Lebanese man, Hadi Matar has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the 2022 knife attack on author Salman Rushdie at a cultural event in New York.

5. Nepal’s Yala Glacier has officially been declared “dead,” symbolizing a deepening climate crisis in the Himalayan region. The glacier, which has dramatically receded over the last five decades, was honored through a ceremonial tribute attended by experts and communities from across the Hindu Kush.
