1. The LPG tanker Nanda Devi has arrived at Vadinar port in Jamnagar, Gujarat, marking a significant moment for India’s energy security.This vessel, carrying 46,500 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), reached Indian shores on Tuesday, just one day after the tanker Shivalik docked successfully.

2. Nineteen Indians were among 35 persons whose arrest has been ordered in the United Arab Emirates for posting allegedly misleading and fabricated videos on social media amid regional tensions due to the West Asia conflict.

3. The Government of India has relaxed foreign direct investment (FDI) rules to allow overseas companies with up to 10 per cent Chinese shareholding to invest in India through the automatic route. The change was notified by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and aims to ease investment flows while retaining safeguards against strategic risks.

4. India has officially rejected reports that it requested the release of Iranian oil tankers seized abroad. The government clarified that no such communication or request was made to any country regarding Iranian tankers. These claims were circulating in some international/media reports, but India called them “incorrect” or “misleading.”

The three tankers in question—Stellar Ruby, Asphalt Star, and Al Jafzia—were intercepted approximately 100 nautical miles west of Mumbai. Indian Coast Guard personnel detected suspicious activity within India’s exclusive economic zone, leading to the operation.

5. India’s National Quantum Mission (NQM) has marked a significant milestone with the approval of 23 academic institutions to establish quantum teaching laboratories.This development emerged from the joint monthly meeting of Secretaries of Science Ministries, held in New Delhi on 16 March 2026.

6. India has issued a sharp condemnation of Pakistan’s alleged airstrikes on a drug rehabilitation hospital in Kabul, describing the incident as a “cowardly and unconscionable act of violence.”The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) released a strongly worded statement on Tuesday.

1. In 2026, Japan will launch the first commercial engine that generates electricity by burning a mixture containing up to 30% hydrogen, with a warranty and upgrade option, after 11 months of testing in Kobe and with the promise of decarbonization without changing the pipes.

US President Donald Trump has said that most NATO allies have declined to join the US military operation against Iran, criticising the alliance and asserting that Washington does not need foreign support.​ He added that despite their reluctance, almost every country strongly agreed with what we are doing and that Iran cannot, in any way, shape, or form, be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

3. The conflict across West Asia has sharply intensified in the past few hours, with Israeli military officials claiming a major strike on Iran’s command structure. The Israeli Defense Forces say they have killed Ali Larijani, a secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council, along with a senior commander of the Basij paramilitary forces.

4. At least 23 people were killed and more than 100 others injured in suspected suicide bombings that struck the city of Maiduguri in northeastern Nigeria last night.
