1. The third meeting of the India-Maldives High-Level Core Group was held in Male on Sunday, where the two sides reviewed the ongoing deputation of Indian technical personnel to enable continued operation of Indian aviation platforms that provide humanitarian services to people of Maldives.

2. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday boldly addressed criticism on the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and questioned the global understanding of historical events, adding that the government has an obligation to the people who were let down at the time of partition.

3. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais welcomed Bhutan’s Prime Minister, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, during his maiden official visit to India at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, on Saturday.

4. ‘Overseas Friends’ of BJP UK organised a car rally in London to showcase ‘unwavering support’ for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling party at the Centre ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The rally began at the Kutch Leva Patidar Samaj Complex in Northolt and culminated at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Neaden. Over 250 cars participated in the rally, showcasing widespread support for the BJP and PM Modi ahead of the general elections in the country.

1. Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed a landslide victory in the country’s presidential elections extending his rule till 2030. With more than 80 per cent of the votes counted by 1 AM (Moscow Time), Putin was leading the race with an estimated 87.15 per cent of total votes polled.

2. Pakistan government has assured the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that it will not allocate an additional budget to settle the Pakistani currency (PKR) 493 billion dues of Chinese power plantsplants & CHINA-PAKISTAN ECONOMIC CORRIDOR.

3. Israeli troops continued operations in the central Gaza Strip, where over the past day approximately 18 terrorists were killed by sniper, shell, and aerial fire, the Israel Defence Forces said.

4. Highlighting Pakistan’s heinous crimes, prominent Baloch rights activist Hakeem Baloch has urged the Untied Nations to recognise the legitimate aspirations of the Baluchistan people for self-determination.

5. Seven soldiers, including two officers, were killed in a terror attack on a security forces post in the Mir Ali area of Pakistan’s North Waziristan district.

6. Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong and her partner Sophie Allouache have exchanged vows in a ceremony held in Adelaide after being together for nearly 20 years.

The wedding, attended by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and senior ministers, was a joyous occasion witnessed by family and friends, including their two daughters – 11-year-old Alexandra, and 8-year-old Hannah, who participated as flower girls.

7. In Afghanistan, 21 people died and 38 injured in a traffic accident on the Herat-Kandahar highway of Helmand Province. The Information and Culture Directorate of Helmand Province reported that the incident occurred on Sunday morning in the Yakhchal area of Grishk district.

8. Niger has suspended its military agreement with the United States “with immediate effect”. The decision, announced on Saturday, came after senior US officials – led by Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Molly Phee and US Africa Command head General Michael Langley – visited the West African country.

9. A volcano has erupted once again in Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland, marking the fourth eruption since December.

10. A massive forest fire in China is threatening the habitats of giant pandas and other rare species in the inland province of Sichuan.
