1. The Law Commission recommends a comprehensive law to address fraudulent marriages between NRIs, foreign citizens of Indian origin, and Indian citizens. It emphasizes mandatory registration of marriages, addressing divorce, maintenance, custody, and serving summons on NRIs and OCIs. Amendments to the Passports Act are also proposed.

2. India and Colombia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Sharing Successful Digital Solutions Implemented at Population Scale for Digital Transformation. It was signed between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Information Technologies and Communications of Colombia.

3. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met UK Foreign Minister David Cameron in Germany on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference in Germany.

4. A statue of U Tirot Sing, a freedom fighter from Khasi Hills who rebelled against British Colonialism some 200 years ago, unveiled on Friday at Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, Dhaka. Deputy CM of Meghalaya Sniawbhalang Dhar and the High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Pranay Verma jointly unveiled the statue on Friday.

5. The United States House of Representatives on Thursday (local time) passed the ‘Quad Bill’ which aims to establish a working group for bolstering cooperation between the partner countries.The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, also known as the Quad, is a coalition comprised of the United States, Japan, Australia and India.

1. The advanced Technology Innovation Institute (TII) of the United Arab Emirates has launched the Falcon Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing open-source generative AI models.

8. Recently Indonesian Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto has declared victory in the presidential election after unofficial vote counts showed him with a significant lead over his rivals.
