1. India has sent humanitarian assistance to Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos in solidarity with people affected by Typhoon Yagi.

2. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said in a social media post that ten tons of aid including dry ration, clothing and medicines left for Myanmar onboard INS Satpura. The Indian Air Force has deployed its C 17 Globemaster aircraft to provide Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief to flood affected Vietnam and Laos.

3. The fourth edition of Global Bio-India 2024 concluded successfully after showcasing India’s Biotech Prowess. The three day event was themed on the potential and opportunities in ‘Biotech Innovation’ and ‘Bio-manufacturing’ and its impact on the Bioeconomy. The event was organized by Ministry of Science and Technology between 12th to 14th of this month in New Delhi.

1. In China, a powerful typhoon, Bebinca, is approaching the eastern coast, prompting authorities to prepare for heavy rainfall.

2. Israel dropped leaflets over a Lebanon border village on Sunday urging residents to leave. It was the first time Israelis had instructed south Lebanon citizens to evacuate during the 11-month cross-border conflict between Hezbollah and Israel over the Gaza war.

3. Sri Lanka is heading into the final week of campaigning before the Presidential Elections.

4. In Egypt, at least three people were killed and 49 others injured in a collision of two-trains in Sharqiya Governorate.

5. A SpaceX Crew Polaris Dawn returned to Earth successfully on Sunday after five days in orbit bringing four astronauts home after a groundbreaking mission featuring the world’s first commercial spacewalk. The Dragon capsule made splashdown off the coast of Florida.

The crew aboard the International Space Station, conducted a wide range of scientific experiments and technological demonstrations.

6. At least 16 people were killed and 40 others injured after a fuel tanker exploded in Haiti. Haitian Prime Minister Garry Conille said on social media that civil protection and public health teams are assisting the victims.

7. In Nigeria, at least 41 people lost their lives in a tragic boat accident in the north western part of the country. 12 people were rescued. A wooden boat carrying over 50 passengers and crew capsized on a river near Gummi, a town in Zamfara state.
