1. India is set to host the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of Parliaments of Commonwealth Countries (CSPOC) in January 2026. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced this during the CSPOC Standing Committee Meeting in Guernsey.
2. Meta India has apologised for its CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s statement that the incumbent government in India lost elections in 2024 due to its handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. Amid the massive row over the remark, India representative of the social media giant apologised Calling it an “inadvertent error”.
3. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met the visiting President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, in New Delhi. President Tharman will hold discussions with President Droupadi Murmu today at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
4. Textile Minister, Giriraj Singh highlighted the ‘Make in India’ initiative as a proven strategy driving India’s emergence as a competitive manufacturing hub. During the inauguration of the India Pavilion at Heimtextil 2025 in Frankfurt, Germany Mr. Singh stressed India’s growth story and rising Foreign Direct Investment in the last 10 years.
5. India and Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the supply of 80 single cabs to police stations in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province. The MoU, backed by a grant of 300 million Sri Lankan Rupees from the Government of India, was signed by Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha and Sri Lanka’s Secretary of Public Security D.W.R.B. Seneviratne.
6. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Spanish Foreign Affairs Minister José Manuel Albares participated in a session on ‘Strategic Alliances for a Changing World’ at the Spain-India Council Foundation in Madrid.

1. South Korea’s impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol was arrested by law enforcement officials. Yoon was impeached and charged with insurrection over his short-lived effort to impose martial law last month. It is the first time in the South Korean history that a sitting president has been detained.
2. In Bangladesh, the Supreme Court l acquitted Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman and others in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. The court headed by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed pronounced the verdict unanimously acquitting Khaleda, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and others who were convicted and sentenced by the lower court in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
3. In South Africa, rescuers have pulled out 60 bodies and 106 survivors from an illegal gold mine during two days of rescue operations.
4. Hamas is expected to release 33 Israeli hostages seized during the October 7, 2023, attacks, while Israel will free hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in return.
