1. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar met Norwegian Finance Minister and incoming chair of Munich Security Conference, Jens Stoltenberg in Munich.

2. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany. The two leaders discussed ongoing efforts towards the resolution of the Ukraine conflict. They also spoke about further advancement of India-Ukraine bilateral cooperation.

3. India and Srilanka held talks to strengthen ties in critical minerals, exploration and Mining. Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey held a meeting with Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of Sri Lanka Sunil Handunnetti in New Delhi.

4. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has extended the application deadline for the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) Tech Triumph Season 3 challenge till 20th of this month. The Tech Triumph challenge aims to identify, recognize, and showcase India’s gaming talent at the international platform of WAVES and India Pavilion at the Game Developer Conference, 2025.

5. The Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani will pay a State Visit to India on 17th and 18th of this month at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

6. The Embassy of India in Bangkok organised a Khon dance and Sitar recital, celebrating the cultural ties of both nations. The event was a part of SAMVAD-IV, which is held in Thailand.

1. 🇺🇦Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for the creation of an armed forces of Europe, saying his country’s fight against Russia has laid the foundation for it. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Zelenskyy emphasized on the need for a unified European military force saying that Europe cannot ignore the possibility that the U.S. might withdraw support on key security issues.

2. The U.S. Army has officially announced that it will no longer allow transgender individuals to enlist in the military and will cease providing gender transition procedures.

3. In Congo, residents in eastern Congo’s second-largest city, Bukavu remained indoors yesterday after a night of heavy gunfire as Rwanda-backed M23 rebels advanced in the city. The rebels, who seized Goma last month, claimed control of Kavumu airport near Bukavu.

4. In Gaza Strip, Hamas released three Israeli hostages while Israel freed 369 Palestinian prisoners, under a ceasefire agreement that began last month. This was the sixth exchange since the truce began, with 21 hostages and over 730 prisoners freed previously.
