1. Over 200 people participated in the International Gita Mahotsav 2025, organised by the Indian Embassy in Beirut at the Lebanese National Theatre.

5. Indian intelligence agencies are closely monitoring a reported Transfer of Technology (ToT) deal between Pakistan and a Europe-based military drone manufacturer.The agreement, sources indicate, involves Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), Pakistan’s primary state-owned defence production entity.

1. On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the World Health Organisation’s South-East Asia Region issued a renewed call for urgent and coordinated action to tackle the rising burden of diabetes, which now affects more than two hundred and seventy-nine million adults in the region, nearly one-third of the global total.
2. Israel received the body of another hostage, Meny Godard, after Hamas transferred his remains through the Red Cross inside the Gaza Strip last night. Forensic experts at the Abu Kabir institute later confirmed his identity, and the Israel Defence Forces notified his family.
Godard was murdered by Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists during the October 7, 2023, attack on Kibbutz Be’eri, in which his wife was also killed.
3. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is reviewing Sri Lanka’s newly announced 2026 budget, particularly its 7 per cent growth target, to determine whether it aligns with the terms of the country’s ongoing bailout program.
4. The Sri Lankan Parliament has approved the second reading of the 2026 Appropriation Bill, following a week-long debate. The budget was passed with 160 votes in favour, 42 against, and 8 abstentions.
5. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei dismissed the G7’s latest statement as baseless and irresponsible.
The G7 had accused Iran of supplying military support to Russia in the Ukraine war and urged Tehran to comply with UNSC resolutions, the NPT, and fully cooperate with the IAEA, including allowing inspections.
