1. India and Singapore have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the sphere of law and dispute resolution.
2. The Russian Embassy in New Delhi hosted a ceremony for Indian participants of the World Youth Festival, held in Russia’s Sirius Federal Territory in Sochi from the first to seventh of this month. The ceremony was presided over by Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov and the Indian participants shared their impressions and experiences from the festival.
3. The second Foreign Office Consultations between India and Cote d’Ivoire was held in New Delhi. It was co-chaired by Additional Secretary (Central and West Africa) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Sevala Naik Mude from the Indian side. From the Cote d’Ivoire side, Director General of Bilateral Relations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Filbert Kouassi Gleglaud co-chaired the Consultations.
4. The Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi, under the Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture, hosted the first-ever Odishan Tribal Artists’ Camp in Dubai. Fifteen renowned tribal artists from Odisha participated in the event.
5. Khalistani sympathisers in 🇨🇦Canada raised anti-India slogans while the Indian Ambassador to Canada Sanjay Kumar Verma attended an event organised by the Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) in Edmonton on 11 March.
6. The recent implementation of India’s Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has sparked discussions and debates across the nation. why Sri Lankan Tamils have not been included in the list?
(a) If Sri Lankan Tamils were included in the CAA, they might be subjected to persecution in their home country which may compel them to move towards India.
(b) Sri Lankan Tamils based on language as a criterion for the CAA could potentially open the floodgates for demands from tribal linguistic minorities in other neighbouring countries. For instance, linguistic minorities such as Baloch and Sindhis in Pakistan.
(c) In the long run this could create a cycle of displacement and further exacerbate the challenges faced by the Tamil population in Sri Lanka.
(d) The inclusion of Sri Lankan Tamils in the CAA could potentially lead to a situation that strips them of their voice and rights within their own country.

1. Russia is all set to vote today for their next President. The polls will be open for three days starting from the 15th of March to the 17th of March, though early and postal voting has already begun. This will be the first time Russia will use an option to vote online. The option will be available in 27 Russian regions and Crimea, which moscow seized from Ukraine 10 years ago.
2. US House of Representatives has passed a landmark bill that could ban TikTok in the US unless the app parts ways with its Chinese parent company, ByteDance.
3. A Bangladeshi-flagged cargo vessel, MV Abdullah, carrying coal and manned by 23 crew members has been hijacked by Somalian pirates in the Indian Ocean near Somalia coast. The ship was heading for Dubai from Mozambique’s Maputo port when the pirates attacked.
4. Turkish drones arrive in Maldives, maybe used for patrolling Indian Ocean. Maldives’s Defence Ministry signed a deal with Turkey to buy drones to patrol its exclusive economic zone waters.
5. In Bangladesh, a legendary Rabindra Sangeet singer Sadi Mohammad passed away on Wednesday evening. He was 70 years.
