1. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar meets Chinese counterpart in Beijing; Hails positive trajectory in bilateral relations.

2. Three major fertilizer producers from India entered into long-term agreements on the supply of fertilizers with Ma’aden of Saudi Arabia. The signing of the agreements was done in the presence of J. P. Nadda, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers, who is on a three-day (July 11-13) visit to the Gulf kingdom.

3. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has underlined the need for cooperation on trans-border rivers, including resumption of provision of hydrological data by the Chinese side. Dr. S. Jaishankar today held a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing.

4. The International Solar Alliance (ISA) will convene its Seventh Regional Committee Meeting (RCM) for the Asia and Pacific region in Colombo from today. The event will bring together government officials, private sector leaders, technical institutions, and regional organisations to accelerate solar deployment in the region.

5. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, currently on a three-day visit to the UAE as part of his Dubai-Spain tour from July 13-19, is making strong headway in attracting international investments.

1. Iran has said that it will deliver a proportionate and appropriate response if France, Britain and Germany, collectively known as the E3, trigger sanctions snapback mechanisms. The warning was made by its Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei at a weekly press conference in Tehran.

2. Nepal’s Fiscal Deficit Hits Rs 1397 Billion with Rising Imports. Imports from India, China, and other countries increased by 7.6 percent, 15.3 percent, and 29.5 percent, respectively. In the first eleven months of the current fiscal year 2024/25, Nepal’s total deficit has reached Rs 1397.23 billion, with a 6.3 per cent rise.

3. In southern Syria, at least 89 people were killed and some 200 others injured over the past two days in escalating clashes between Druze militias and Bedouin tribes in Sweida province. Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.

4. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) launched the ‘Anti-Pyramid National Awareness Week’ to run till July 18, under the theme “Pyramid is a trap – don’t get into the wrong track.” Organised by the CBSL’s Financial Consumer Relations Department, the campaign aims to raise public awareness on the dangers of prohibited pyramid schemes and their harmful impact on individuals and the economy.

5. ​Moscow and Damascus are​ in talks on Russian ​Military bases in ​Syria. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister​, Sergey Vershinin​, said that the two countries remain in contact on the presence of Russian military bases in the Arab nation.

6. At least 18 civilians were killed and 31 others injured in attacks by the Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on areas in the North Kordofan State in ​Western Sudan.

7. US President Donald Trump is set to make a state visit to the UK, likely in September. The invitation was extended by King Charles III through a letter delivered by Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a February visit to the White House.

8. Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari Dies at 82
Muhammadu Buhari, former President of Nigeria and one-time military ruler, passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82. He died in a London hospital, where he was being treated for long-term health problems.
