1. India advises its nationals to leave Iran immediately amid rapidly evolving security situation.

2. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal welcomed the crew of the Indian Naval Sailing Vessel Kaundinya at Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat, calling the arrival more than just the completion of a voyage but a celebration of deep-rooted civilisational ties.

The vessel reached Muscat after completing its maiden voyage from Porbandar, marking a significant moment in the shared maritime heritage of the two countries.

3. India and China discuss progress in rebuilding bilateral ties and people-centric engagement in New Delhi. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri yesterday met the Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Ms Sun Haiyan, in New Delhi.

4. The 16th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM)-Plus Expert Working Group Meeting (EWG) on Counter-Terrorism, co-chaired by India and Malaysia, has commenced in New Delhi yesterday.

Delegations from 11 ASEAN members and 7 dialogue partners, along with ASEAN Secretariat representatives, are participating in the three-day event.

5. 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla interacted with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Trinidad and Tobago, Jagdeo Singh. He also met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles, Azarel Ernesta.

6. The India Pavilion has once again placed India’s growing steel fabrication and metalworking industry in the international spotlight at the 21st edition of SteelFab, being held from January 12 to 15 at the Sharjah Expo Centre in the United Arab Emirates.

1. US President Donald Trump said that NATO should help the US acquire Greenland, and anything less than American control is unacceptable.

2. The United States has issued a leave-by-evening advisory for certain personnel at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, reflecting heightened security concerns as unrest in Iran intensifies and regional tensions escalate. The base, which hosts about 10,000 US troops, was previously targeted by Iran in June in response to American strikes on its nuclear facilities.

3. Iran has warned neighbouring countries hosting U.S. troops that it would retaliate against American bases if Washington carries out threats to intervene in protests in the country.

4. A total of 175 candidates have withdrawn their names from the closed list of the proportional representation under the House of Representatives member elections of Nepal to be held on March 5.

5. Former Information and Broadcasting adviser and close associate of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, Mahfuj Alam, has sharply criticised Bangladesh’s interim government, accusing it of failing to establish a new political order by relying on and compromising with forces of the old system.

6. In Thailand, 32 people were dead and 65 others injured when a construction crane fell on top of a moving train carriage yesterday morning. The train was travelling from Bangkok to northeastern region.
