1. The Indian Embassy in Moscow has advised Indian nationals in Bryansk, Belgorod and Kursk Regions in Russia to take necessary precautions and temporarily relocate outside these regions. The Embassy issued an advisory in view of the recent security incidents in these three regions.
2. High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on the Adviser for Foreign Affairs of the interim Government of Bangladesh Md. Touhid Hossain yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.
3. The United States has denied visas to Ayodhya Ram Lalla sculptor Arun Yogiraj and his family. They had applied to visit an event by the Association of Kannada Kootas of America, World Kannada Conference-2024, which would be held in Richmond, Virginia. The US Embassy hasn’t given any reason so far as to why it rejected the application.
4. India and Russia are working on introducing a “dynamic reference rate” for their currencies, the Indian Rupee (INR) and the Russian Rouble (RUB), to make financial transactions between the two countries easier and to reduce the impact of U.S. sanctions on Russia.

1. The protest was organised by the group Bangladeshi Hindi Canadians in Canada🇨🇦:
The protesters raised slogans against the ongoing atrocities targeting minority communities in Bangladesh, particularly Hindus and demanded justice from the interim government in Dhaka led by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus as well the international community including action from Ottawa.
2. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has said he would step down in September. Announcing his decision not to seek re-election at a press conference, Mr Kishida said the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) needs a new start.
3. Thailand’s Constitutional Court today dismissed Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin from office over breach of ethics for appointing a former lawyer to his cabinet who had been jailed 16 years ago.
4. In Yemen, the Houthi forces raided and shut down the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the capital Sanaa. The militant group confiscated various assets, vehicles, and documents during the raid, including the main hard disk containing crucial electronic information.
5. The US has approved a 20 billion dollar arms sale to Israel, including Fighter jets and advanced Air-to-Air Missiles.
6. Bangladesh’s interim government on Tuesday cancelled a national holiday on August 15, marking the assassination of the country’s founder and deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
7. China has tested its largest unmanned cargo drone to date, marking a significant advancement in its low-altitude economy. The country aims to build a $279-billion drone industry by 2030, with developments including larger drones and expanding commercial use.
8. In Nepal: Narayangadh-Butwal road section affected due to landslide caused by torrential rains. Heavy rainfall is expected to occur at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces in the next 24 hours.
