1. President Smt Murmu has said that India is undergoing a transformation to become Viksit Bharat by 2047 and added that the diaspora is also an integral part of this development journey. Addressing the members of the Indian community in Botswana yesterday, she said their achievements are India’s pride, and their success raises India’s stature.

6. The Ministry of External Affairs has announced the successful rollout of the upgraded version of its flagship Passport Seva Programme(PSP). The Ministry said the rollout includes the Passport Seva Programme (PSP V2.0), the Global Passport Seva Programme (GPSP V2.0), and the e-Passport, for citizens in India and those who are residing abroad. It also informed that the PSP V2.0 which was launched on 26th May this year was successfully implemented across all 37 Passport Offices in the country.
7. Ministry of External Affairs’ Secretary (East), P Kumaran met Chile’s Vice Minister of International Economic Affairs Claudia Sanhueza in Santiago to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral partnerships between India and the South American country.
8. The UAE has launched ‘Walk to Mars’, a nationwide campaign encouraging residents to collectively cover 54 million kilometres, coinciding with the 100-day countdown to the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026, the region’s largest multi-sport event.

1. In Bangladesh, the International Crimes Tribunal today announced that it will deliver its verdict in the crimes against humanity case against the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and two of her former top aides on Monday, November 17.
2. The longest government shutdown in US has ended with President Donald Trump signing the legislation passed by Congress to temporarily fund federal operations. The standoff between the Republicans and the Democrats that paralysed the government for 43 days broke Wednesday when the House of Representatives voted to approve the legislation passed by the Senate to end the stalemate.
3. Pakistan’s Parliament approved a sweeping constitutional amendment on Thursday granting lifetime immunity to the President as well as the current Army Chief, a move critics warned would erode democratic checks and judicial independence. The 27th amendment, passed by a two-thirds majority, also consolidates military power under a new Chief of Defence Forces role and establishes a Federal Constitutional Court.
4. Bangladesh’s interim government Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has announced that the country’s next national parliamentary election and a nationwide referendum on the July National Charter (Constitutional Reform) Implementation Order 2025 will be held on the same day, in the first half of February next year.
5. The Pakistani authorities have suspended mobile phone internet services for three days in several districts of Balochistan, including Quetta and Chaman. The suspension has disrupted communication, business activity and the daily life of residents in Balochistan.
6. Israel has said it has reopened the Zikim crossing to allow humanitarian aid into northern Gaza. The office of the Coordinator of Government Activities, under the Defence Ministry, said in a statement that the crossing has been reopened to allow aid trucks into the Gaza Strip.
