Afghanistan has claimed responsibility for a series of retaliatory drone strikes on Pakistani military targets, escalating the already tense border conflict between the two nations.Kabul asserts that it successfully destroyed Pakistan’s Kohat military base, described as a key command centre near the disputed Durand Line.

4. A state of emergency has been declared in Peruโ€™s 283 districts to mitigate high risks and address the impact of intense rainfall on public safety. The emergency measure will be in effect for 60 days.

5. NASA has announced that its Artemis II mission, the first crewed mission to fly around the Moon in more than five decades, is on track for launch as early as 1 April 2026. 6. NASA has confirmed that asteroid 2024 YR4 will not collide with the Moon in 2032, resolving earlier concerns about a possible lunar impact. The asteroid, discovered in late 2024, had initially raised alarms when preliminary orbital models suggested a small but measurable chance of collision with the Moon on 22 December 2032.

7. Japan has signalled its intent to join the United States’ ambitious “Golden Dome” missile defence initiative, with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi set to confirm this during a leaders’ summit in Washington D.C. on 19 March.
