1. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun WeidongIndia and China have taken significant steps toward rebuilding and stabilising their bilateral relationship, with a renewed focus on people-centric engagements. During Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong’s two-day visit to New Delhi on June 12-13, 2025, he met with Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
2. Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, has firmly expressed Israel’s support for India’s right to self-defence in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a military campaign launched by the Indian Armed Forces on 7 May 2025.

1. Israel’s military launched a wave of strikes on Iran yesterday morning, targeting key nuclear facilities. According to Iran’s Tasnim state news agency, the assault also hit residential areas, injuring at least 50 people.
2. US President Donald Trump has once again called on Iran to reach a nuclear agreement with the United States, warning that attacks will only get worse. He further cautioned that the next planned attacks on Iran will be even more brutal if Tehran continues to resist diplomatic engagement.
3. Ukraine and Russia completed the second phase of a prisoner exchange yesterday, involving seriously ill and wounded soldiers. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that troops from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, National Guard, and Border Guard were among those released.
4. World Bank has projected a slowing of Sri Lanka’s economic recovery in 2025, with growth projected to ease to 3.5%.
5. Gross foreign exchange reserves of Nepal stood at 18.40 billion US Dollars, which is an all-time high, driven largely by a surge in remittance inflows. According to a current macroeconomic and financial situation report released by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Remittances increased 10.5 per cent in USD terms.
