1. The European Union (EU) and Mexico have expressed disappointment at US President Donald Trump’s threat to impose 30 percent tariffs on their imports from 1st of next month.
2. Indian Astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and three other crew members of the Axiom-4 mission are expected to begin their journey back to Earth today. The undocking has been scheduled for 4:30 PM Indian Standard Time tomorrow and the crew will arrive on earth on Tuesday at around 3:00 PM IST.
The journey back to Earth would take about 22.5 hours. Following a series of orbital manoeuvres after undocking, the Dragon is expected to splashdown at 3 p.m. (IST) on Tuesday (15 July, 2025).
Group Captain Shukla, who is on a 14-day mission to International Space Station, did seven India-specific experiments during the journey. He is the first Indian astronaut to visit the International Space Station, left Earth for his mission aboard Axiom-4.
3. Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced this year’s Maitri Grants, Fellowships and Scholarships, for 34 recipients aimed at promoting Australia-India ties. She said both countries are deepening cooperation across priority sectors that are vital to both nations’ futures, including in defence, trade, education, and technology.

1. Iran ready for nuclear talks, says Foreign Minister Araghchi. He accused the United States of betraying diplomacy by assisting Israel in attacking Iran and by directly targeting Iranian nuclear facilities afterward.
2. In Bangladesh, the interim government has once again extended the magistracy power of commissioned officers in the Army, Navy and Air Force by another 60 days with effect from Monday. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification to this effect on Sunday.
3. King Charles III has decided to retire the British Royal Train, marking the end of a historic tradition that has lasted for nearly 180 years.
