India and Germany have signed key agreements to deepen cooperation in postal, express, and logistics services. partnership focuses on cross-border e-commerce, premium international express delivery, digitalisation, and green logistics to boost Indian exports and MSME participation in global mark.
2. India has officially begun preparations for its BRICS Presidency in 2026 by unveiling the logo and dedicated website for the grouping.

1. The United States and its regional partners have opened a new combined air and missile defence coordination cell at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar to strengthen joint responses to aerial threats across West Asia.
2. In Iran, thousands of people are feared dead after a crackdown on anti-government protests. The protests, sparked by dire economic conditions, has been the biggest internal challenge to Iranian authorities for at least three years and comes amid intensifying international pressure after Israeli and US strikes last year.
Iranian authorities have accused the US and Israel of fomenting unrest. They alleged that terrorists have hijacked the protests.

7. Kestenholz, the Swiss snowboarder who won an Olympic bronze medal during snowboarding’s debut at the Winter Games, has died after being caught in an avalanche in the Swiss Alps. Swiss-Ski confirmed his death on January 13, following the accident in canton Valais. He was 50.
