1. Recently, Maharashtra signed an MoU with Russia’s state-owned company ROSATOM for the development a Small Modular Reactor (SMR). This initiative is notable as it is the first time a state government has ventured into nuclear energy development.

2. India becomes 4th nation having capabilities to shoot down fixed wing drone by laser beam. India has joined the list of selected countries, including the US, China, and Russia, that have shown such a capability.

3. The Government of India has recently launched the ‘Global Tariff and Trade Helpdesk’. This initiative aims to assist stakeholders in navigating the complexities of international trade amidst changing tariff landscapes.

4. Minister-President of the German State of Bavaria, Markus Söder met External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaiashankar in New Delhi. They discussed the contribution of Bavaria to strengthening India’s cooperation with Germany and the European Union.

1. The US will impose separate tariffs on imports of smartphones, computers, semiconductors, and other components in the next one to two months. This was stated by US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

2. Russian Missile strike on Ukrainian city of Sumy leaves 32 people killed and 84 injured.

3. The Second National Horticulture Expo 2081 that ran for four days in Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu Valley in Nepal concluded on Sunday. The exhibition of commercial nursery products as flowers, fruits, agricultural plants, forestry and herbs attracted garden and plant lovers.

6. In Sudan, more than 114 civilians have been killed in attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on two displacement camps over the past two days in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.

Sudan is currently facing the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. The ongoing civil war, which began in April 2023, has led to extreme hunger affecting nearly half of the population.
