1. Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer on Saturday said 76 Indian military personnel were replaced by civilian employees of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited which manufactured the helicopters gifted by India.
The Indian military personnel, stationed in the Maldives to operate two platforms for helicopters and a Dornier aircraft used primarily for medical evacuations, were repatriated by Friday, as per the May 10 deadline set following an agreement between the two countries in February in New Delhi.
2. One police officer was killed and more than 100 people, mostly policemen, injured in violent clashes between security forces and protesters agitating against high prices of wheat flour and electricity in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
3. A fourth Indian national has been arrested by Canadian authorities in connection with the killing of Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in this country, a week after police arrested three Indians linked with the high-profile case that has severely strained India’s relations with Canada.
Amardeep Singh (22), a resident of Brampton, Surrey, and Abbotsford areas of Canada, has been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Nijjar (45) was killed outside Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia on 18 June 2023.

7. The Afghan Taliban government has cancelled the visit of a Pakistani government delegation to Kandahar, which was scheduled on Sunday. The Taliban government on background maintains that the visit was cancelled following “airstrikes by Pakistan on 10th of May in Paktika”.
