1. India and Mauritius elevated their ties to an ‘enhanced strategic partnership’ and inked eight pacts to boost cooperation in several sectors, including maritime security, and promote trade in local currencies.

2. On the second and final day of his two-day trip to Mauritius, The Prime Minister attended the National Day celebrations of Mauritius as the Chief Guest at Champ de Mars yesterday. PM Modi announced India’s new vision for the Global South, naming it “MAHASAGAR” or “Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions.”

3. The Immigration and Foreigners Bill 2025 was introduced in the Lok Sabha to modernise India’s immigration laws. The government aims to streamline processes for foreigners entering, residing, and exiting India.

1. In Pakistan, security forces have safely rescued nearly 200 passengers so far as the rescue operation continues into its second day after the hijacking of the Jaffer Express train near Balochistan’s Bolan district by militants from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

2. The European Commission today said that it will be introducing its own raft of tariffs against US goods by the 1st of April.

3. Ukraine has backed a US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire and agreed to immediate negotiations with Russia after talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

4. Greenland’s pro-business Demokraatit opposition party has won the parliamentary elections with 29.9 per cent of the vote. The election attracted international spotlight after US President Donald Trump proposed taking control of the territory.

5. Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has been arrested in Manila and extradited to The Hague. He faces charges from the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes against humanity.

6. At least 13 people were killed and 20 more injured when a bus crashed into a rock and veered off the road in Bolivia’s western Potosi region.

7. Mark Carney will be sworn in as Canada’s next prime minister on Friday.

8. NASA and SpaceX had to cancel the planned launch of the Crew-10 mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on Wednesday due to a technical problem with a ground support clamp arm for the Falcon 9 rocket at Launch Complex 39A in Florida’s Kennedy Space Center.
