1. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently held significant discussions with Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, as well as Minister Anna Maria Bernini, during their meeting on 11 April 2025.The talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors, including trade, investment, maritime security, technology, education, and culture.

2. US Vice President JD Vance and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz are expected to visit India later this month, marking significant diplomatic engagements between the two nations. The visits, likely to occur between April 21 and 25, coincide with ongoing efforts to finalise a bilateral trade agreement between India and the US.

2. State of Social Protection Report 2025 was released recently by the World Bank. It reveals that 1.6 billion individuals receive no social protection at all. As of 2025, nearly two billion people in low- and middle-income countries lack adequate social protection.
