1. Sultanate of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will visit India on 16 Dec 2023, he will be received by PM Modi and President Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Earlier in September, Oman Deputy Prime Minister Asaad bin Tariq bin Taimur Al Said attended the G20 Summit held under India’s G20 Presidency in New Delhi.
2. Former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif has stressed on repairing diplomatic ties with neighbouring nations, including India, Afghanistan and Iran, and strengthening ties with China was on his party Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N)’s agenda.

1. China’s Zhuque-2 has become the World’s first methane propelled rocket to successfully fly into orbit. This was Landscape’s second attempt after a launch failed in December.
2. A police official was killed and two more were injured after a magnetic improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in Khuzdar district in Baluchistan province in Pakistan on Sunday.
3. Heavy fighting raged overnight and into Sunday in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis, as Israel pressed ahead with its offensive after the US blocked the latest international efforts to halt the fighting.
United States has pledged unwavering support for Israel’s goal of crushing Hamas’ military and governing abilities in order to prevent any repeat of the October 7 attack that triggered the war.
4. IRCON International Limited will commence railway upgradation work on the northern line of Sri Lanka Railways from January, 2024. The railways department has announced the temporary suspension of train services between Colombo and Jaffna due to the track upgrade work.
