1. Operation Sindoor: India Receives Strong International Support Against Terrorism: The countries including USA, UK, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE have supported India’s position.
2. India and Chile signed the Terms of Reference (ToR) for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), marking a significant advancement in their bilateral trade relations.
3. India has abstained from voting at the International Monetary Fund, IMF Board Meeting which considered a fresh bailout package for Pakistan. The IMF took note of the India’s statement and its abstention from the vote.
India also raised concerns over the efficacy of IMF programs in case of Pakistan given its poor track record, and also on the possibility of misuse of debt financing funds for state sponsored cross border terrorism.
4. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has extended greetings to EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas on Europe Day yesterday.
5. World Bank President Ajay Banga dismissed media speculation about the bank’s role in resolving the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, saying it acts solely as a facilitator

1. 10th International Trade Fair begins in Nepal. The five-day-long fair has 120 pavilions across Nepal, China, Ukraine, Bangladesh and Turkey.
2. Russian President hosted Victory Day parade to commemorate 80th anniversary of Soviet triumph over Nazi Germany.
3. US President Donald Trump has announced a ‘breakthrough’ trade deal with the United Kingdom, calling it the ‘first of many.’ The deal includes reduced import taxes on select British cars and tariff-free imports of some steel and aluminium, though a 10% tariff on most UK goods remains in place.
4. American prelate Robert Francis Prevost has been elected the new Pope, becoming the first American pontiff in the history of the Catholic Church. He will take the pontifical name of Pope Leo XIV.
