1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu has embarked on a state visit to Timor-Leste after a successful two-day visit to New Zealand. President Murmu will reach Dili, capital of Timor-Leste, today.

2. The Central Government has constituted a committee to monitor the current situation on the Indo-Bangladesh border. The committee will maintain communication channels with their counterpart authorities in Bangladesh to ensure the safety of Indian nationals and people belonging to minority communities in Bangladesh.

3. Air India has suspended flight operations to and from Tel Aviv, Israel, with immediate effect until further notice in view of the current situation in parts of West Asia.

4. External Affairs Minister, Dr S Jaishankar informs Lok Sabha, 14 of 91 Indian nationals recruited into Russian Army have been discharged.

5. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar arrived in the Maldives this evening for a three-day visit. He was received by his Maldivian counterpart, Moosa Zameer, at the airport.

6. Indian-origin top Singapore banker Piyush Gupta is set to step down as the Chief Executive Officer of the DBS Group in March 2025. He will be succeeded by Tan Su Shan, who was appointed Deputy CEO.

7. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is scheduled to embark on an official visit to Nepal on Sunday.

8. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Bangladesh interim government led by Muhammad Yunus.

9. Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha and Sri Lankan Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, inaugurated the ‘Sri Lanka – India Friendship Arch’ at the National Sandalwood Garden on Thursday.The event was a part of the ‘Plant4Mother’ campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

1. Israel is on high alert as tensions in the West Asia reach a critical point, with the country bracing for potential attacks from Iran and Hezbollah.

2. A passenger plane carrying 62 people on board crashes in Brazil, all feared killed. It was crashed on the outskirts of Sao Paulo on Friday.

3. Palestinian militants reportedly continued their assault on Israeli forces from the city’s rubble. Families from eastern Khan Younis fled using vehicles, donkey carts, and motorcycle rickshaws, slowly making their way through the congested streets.

4. The Biden administration has decided to lift a ban on US sales of offensive weapons to Saudi Arabia, also has been negotiating a defence pact and an agreement for civil nuclear cooperation with Riyadh as part of a broad deal that envisions Saudi Arabia normalizing ties with Israel, although that remains an elusive goal.

5. An Iraqi national has been arrested in Austria in connection with a foiled terror plot targeting Taylor Swift concerts. The teenager is the third person to be detained in this case, believed to be linked to the 19-year-old primary suspect, an Austrian national with North Macedonian roots.
